VINTAGE children's book - The Story of Mr Prettimouse
Lovely vintage children's book.
'The Story of Mr Prettimouse' by Margaret Alleyne, with illustrations by Mary B Robinson
Absolutely lovely little book in fair condition and complete with dusk jacket.
Published by Frederick Warne & Co (the same publishing house as Beatrix Potter, and you can tell there is a similar style with pretty vignette watercolours and pen and ink line drawings.)
This edition does not have a date based on the other titles listed on the back it is an early edition - perhaps late 1940s.
The story begins "One upon a time, in the village of Much Cheese, there lived a little brown mouse. He was quite an ordinary mouse - no bigger or cleverer or more handsome than his neighbours - but he thought he was Someone Special..."
45 pages, dainty illustrations and a lovely story with a happy ending.
The dust jacket is a little faded with some tears to the corners and age marks, the price is clipped out, and there is a pen inscription on the first page - but otherwise it is in nice condition.
